So I had this idea for taking one student of note from each of the senior academies and having them do a short mission together.

Ankh suggested providing a professor, and my character Sol will fill the spot from Titan, but I need someone from Beacon, Haven, and Shade.


We will now be attempting for one teacher and one student from each academy.

Sol's backstory deals heavily with the part his family played in the subjugation of the Faunus in Atlas, as well as his histroy engaging the White Fang, and his hatred for them.

I would like very much to come up with a plot that capitalizes upon these two concepts. I would be happy to discuss any ideas with anyone who finds this concept intriguing.

Volatile Ignition:
Sol's semblance tends to suit his explosive temper, as well as his reckless attitude. By carefully focusing and manipulating his aura, Sol can manifest projected explosions of heat and force from his extremities.
Sol can project said detonations from either his hand or his mouth, and they typically originate within a few inches of his body and are projected outwards and away from him like a shaped charge. Under ideal conditions Sol is not in any danger as a result of these bursts, but they are never the less potent weapons in their own right. The potency of these strikes can be controlled to a degree by Sol, and come in two primary varieties separated by the threat they pose him personally. A safe discharge of his semblance extends between three and six feet from the origin point, and can be directed and controlled to a degree as to never pose a threat to him, as well,such blasts only require a small portion of his aura as energy. An unsafe discharge on the other hand doubles that to six and twelve feet, allows him no means of controlling or directing the blast, and requires nearly all of Sol's total aura as energy. In both cases the force of the burst dissipates the further the from the ignition point the target moves, until rendered inert at increased distances beyond the maximum range.
For the purposes of describing the effects of each blast, anything below the minimum listed range should be considered close range, and anything above considered maximum range. In both causes Sol can inflict more damage by being in direct contact with his target, hereafter "melee range", but the blowback from such a strike is enough to injure him as well. In the case of a safe detonation this depletes and additional charge from his aura in order to protect him from the impact, and in the case of an unsafe detonation it inflicts immediate and serious damage to his entire body (This is considered a last ditch effort by Sol, and employed only in desperation).
A safe discharge unleashed against a foe with their own aura for protection, has not enough force to kill on it's own, or even seriously injure, but can buffet at maximum effective range with equal forces to a strong gale, will stun and stagger at close ranges, and will inflict bruising and soft tissue damage at melee range. Furthermore, the target will be driven away from the ignition point as the force of the explosion clashes against their aura. Ability to resist this force will be dependent on the physical strength and fitness of the target as well as distance from the ignition point, forces growing more extreme as they approach the origin of the blast. Enduring such blasts in close succession at close range has the potential to deplete even a fresh aura over time, while blasts a melee range inflict a much greater blow, but at medium to long range the blasts cause only a momentary disruption, which Sol might be able to capitalize upon with a will timed follow up strike from one of his weapons. Against mundane targets that have no aura, a blast of this level can dent a quarter inch thick steel sheet, shatter glass and wooden objects, and break bones.
An unsafe discharge on the other hand can break bones at close range, even through an aura, and thereby also inflict lethal injuries if such bones should be located in the head or chest. Even the hardiest of foes caught in such a blast will often be thrown off their feet. At melee range a blast of this power could potentially inflict critical injury, but to do so would be just as dangerous to Sol, (It is worth mentioning that even with his reckless and foolhardy nature, not even Sol is willing to unleash a full power blast at melee range, given the immediate personal threat it poses to him). However, Sol is at equal if not greater risk from such a blow, being that he invariably has to be inside the danger zone of the blast in order to trigger it, being that unlike the safe blast which has a conical blast wave that is directed away from his body, an unsafe detonation has a spherical blast wave that extends in all directions. Furthermore, it completely depletes his own aura to do so, meaning that if the foe is not finished off, or if the attack misses, Sol is rendered extremely vulnerable. Against mundane targets with no aura, a blast of this level can buckle the armor plating of a military vehicle, smash ceramics and glass to dust, and potentially dismember soft targets.
Sol can use dust to augment the affects of his semblance. Dust crystals caught in the discharges of Sol's semblance will alter the nature of the explosion delivered.
<P>Red dust causes the explosion to have a much more incendiary quality and boosts the maximum range by 100%, while leaving the close range unaltered. Kinetic forces of this discharge are minimal and lack the power to drive an average opponent away from the ignition point, while setting fire to combustibles and soft targets, and immediately incinerating delicate materials.
<P>Blue dust causes the blast to be endothermic in nature, sucking available heat and energy out of the immediate area, but also halves both the close and maximum range of the blast. Depending on the quantity of dust used, there might be as little as a sheet of frost over the affected targets or a layer of solid ice.
<P>Yellow dust causes the blast to become electrically and magnetically charged, and can disrupt electronics, and stun biological beings, and though the magnetic forces are not significant enough to attract metal objects, they are enough to scramble unshielded circuitry.
<P>Green dust boosts the all effective ranges by 200%. However all thermal and kinetic properties of the blast become relatively harmless in favor of light and sound, making the use of this dust ideal for deafening and blinding foes, but not much else.
<P>Purple dust is much too rare and expensive to waste in this way, but initial tests with small samples have suggested it would likely create a brief barrier instead of a blast.
With controlled bursts of his semblance, he can project roughly ten blasts in the safe range before depleting his aura. Being that these detonations rely upon Sol's aura as a fuel source, each one causes a minor disruption to his ability to manifest an aura shield, an under most circumstances it is not significant enough to completely disable his shield, provided he gives his aura a chance to recover between each detonation, usually between twenty and thirty seconds. In the case of detonation's delivered at melee range, his aura needs more time to recover at sixty to ninety seconds. In both cases this assumes that the detonation that triggered the cooldown did not also completely deplete Sol's own aura.
Though it has no real combat application except for possibly the purposes of intimidation, utilization of his semblance causes Sol's internal body temperature to spike upward. It is not uncommon for his breath to become steam, or for liquids to sizzle when they come in contact with him and these cosmetic differences can sometimes serve as a warning for an impending detonation. This does provide him a slight resistance to extreme temperatures, but not enough to be considered superhuman.
Use of his semblance is physically strenuous to Sol, above and beyond the usual strain a semblance places on most hunters. Repeated discharges of his semblance can cause bruising and burning that slowly spreads away from the ignition point, and can over time render the limb useless, or cost him his voice. Sol needs to take a break between successive discharges in order to avoid this, but after a typical fight even one in which not a hand is laid upon him, his body will be sore and bruised, and burned around the face and hand from the use of his semblance.

<div id="criteriah">WEAPON.</div>
<P>Roar: <P>
A tragic accident in his youth claimed Sol's right arm. He has since replaced it with a sophisticated prosthesis that serves most of the same functions of the original, and several more as well.<br>
Said prosthesis exists in two distinct parts, a reinforced endoskeletal structure that closely resembles the bone and sinew of a normal arm only rendered in far tougher materials, and a removable exoskeletal shell that houses a dust deployment and containment system. <P>
The internal structure functions as an arm without need of the external structure, but looks rather unsettling, being it's close resemblance to it's biological equivalent, and is made up of a similar material to conventional hunter weaponry, for this reason it is considerably tough, as it needs to be to suffer the abuse of it's function.<P>
The external structure is removable, being that in order to properly armor the dust containment system, the "meat" of the prosthesis had to be constructed around it. This also means that the forearm of the prosthesis needs to be stripped in order to reload the system. This structure actually extends up and over the remaining portion of Sol's biological arm, and fastens to a set of implanted rivets in his right scapular. The structure itself resembles overlapping red plates of insect chitin, surrounding a semi-translucent blue interior, and has a decidedly more organic impression than a conventional prosthetic, likely due to personal preference on the part of the creator. The shell is made of a ceramic composite, in order to shed the weight that would have been necessary to achieve a similar shape with metal. The skeleton of the prosthesis is visible along the palm, fingertips and knuckles of the hand, being that it was more efficient to leave these area's unarmored and allow the hardy material of the internal structure to take the brunt of any abuse.<P>
Other interesting features of this prosthesis is the addition of several vents arranged at the joints for the purposes of deploying dust. In order of size from largest to smallest are as follows, dorsal shoulder, six inches in diameter, right palm, four inches in diameter, and two on the medial and lateral sides of the elbow, each two inches in diameter. <P>
By employing these vents and the dust contained within the internal housing, often fire or wind dust, Sol can either eject gouts of flame and explosive force from his arm, or by narrowing the aperture of said vents , augment his own mobility with the assistance of directed jets of force.<P>
The palm of the system also allows for it to interface with the hilts of one of Sol's other two weapons, as well as a locking system that makes him effectively impossible to disarm without literally disarming him.<p>
Roar affords Sol enhanced physical strength for hand to hand strikes, but the primary weapon system comes by way of the vent located in the palm, from which concentrated ejections of dust can be fired in either stream, projectile, or jet form, by manipulating the much more complicated aperture located therein. The elbow and shoulder vents working in tandem the main gun can operate as a sophisticated stabilization system by ejecting precise jets to counteract the recoil of discharging the primary weapon.
For the purposes of combat the projectile stream and jet settings are distinguished ad follows. <br>
Projectile mode fires a solid mass of ignited dust up to fifty feet. At close range this projectile explodes on impact and inflicts splash damage over an area three feet in radius. However due to lacking a solid casing, the projectile rapidly loses energy as it flies and requires a short distance to prime, causing it to lose this explosive quality except between ranges of ten and twenty feet. <br>
Stream mode ejects a narrow two foot wide cone that can extend up to fifteen feet, and Sol typically employs this mode when a target closes into the dead zone of his projectile mode.
<br> Jet mode has little if any applications for direct damage and instead provides propulsion for enhancement of Sol's mobility.
The only major consideration need to be taken into account is heat buildup, and ammunition availability, though the weapon houses enough dust to discharge fifteen high caliber projectiles or sustain roughly five minutes of continuous burn before needing to be reloaded, the weapon requires thirty seconds to vent heat following each discharge of the main gun or sixty seconds of continuous stream.
An officer's weapon from the Faunus war, this sword possess a slightly curved, single edged blade , a slender disc roundel guard, and a long two handed hilt with a minimal pommel. Blue and red accents decorate both the hilt and the guard, and overlapping red scales reinforce the weapon's spine. Like Heave this sword has been modified to interface with Sol's artificial arm, but to a much more extensive degree. Openings arranged along the spine of the sword allow it to vent dust in much the same way as the joints of his arm, while a second system feeds an internal matrix within the weapon, allowing for the use of two types of dust at once, one internally and one externally. When infused, glyphs can be seen climbing the blade in intricate designs that resemble simple circuitry, and Sol can control the flow of dust by twisting or "revving" a throttle in the hilt just below the guard using his left hand. <P>
The scabbard of this weapon has been modified to resemble Sol's artificial arm, and is made up of overlapping red scales over a blue core. Additionally a system has been added to the mouth of the scabbard to allow the weapon to be drawn at highs speeds, either by using a trigger on the back of the sheath to activate an internal dust charge, or by utilizing the sword's dust venting system to explosively eject the blade from it's housing. Furthermore the sheath has been modified to fasten magnetically to either a place on Sol's left hip, or a brace that he wears on his left arm, allowing him better control for how to aim and launch the sword.
Additionally, the sheath itself can be used as a sidearm by discharging the dust charge in the hilt up to an effective range of roughly six feet by ejecting a short cone of fire from the sheath's mouth. This is particularly effective when the sheath is mounted on Sol's left wrist.. The multi use cartridge houses enough dust for five discharges.
BONUS: A replacement shell for his prosthetic arm, and enough dust to reload each of his weapons twice, as well as assorted dust crystals for use with his semblance.

Sol stands just under a full six feet in height and when equipped with the endoskeletal prosthesis of his right arm, weighs just over two hundred pounds. His frame is heavily muscled, along with broad shoulders and thick arms that run down to blunt hands with thick fingers. His brown hair hangs straight down, often in an attempt to conceal the fact that he is missing his right eye. Though human, his elongated canines, golden gaze, and the way in which his hairline extends midway down his neck sometimes result in him being mistaken for Faunus. He favors dark clothing with baggy sleeves, again to conceal a missing right arm, and often decorates his attire with simple golden or red trim. He wears a close fitting bracer on his left forearm and plated caps on his shins and knees, with a preference for durable and bulky footwear. He owns a series of ball-caps and invariably flips the bill on them upwards when they are worn. He moves with a predatory, fluid grace that belies the brute potential of his bulky frame, to the degree that this as well is often used as basis for accusations regarding his heritage.
<p><div id="criteriah">PERSONALITY.</div>

Known far and wide for an infamously incendiary temper, Sol has been well documented to smolder for hours before eventually erupting into a violent fury for what seems to be little reason at all. His penchant for holding a grudge, being incredibly and ruthlessly judgmental of others, and having little patience for fools or weaklings, have given Sol a reputation as a scowling hardass. Add to this the sense of loss he feels for both his eye, his arm, and his family, and you get a volatile man with few reasons to be anything but.
However, this tough exterior, that many fail to ever penetrate, belies a far more complicated individual. Skilled with both his hands and his weapons, Sol feels a great appreciation for the rewards of hard work, and finds a great deal of confidence and pride in both his crafts and his martial prowess. His hobbies include poetry, charcoal rubbings, mechanics and martial arts, and though he finds varied degrees of success in each, the metric skewed in favor of the latter pair, he is never the less driven and enthusiastic about such exploits. He possesses a stubborn will, and in combination with his ample courage in tackling obstacles is well noted to be the first one to challenge a conflict and the last to retreat.
Sol is a lover of the more basic things in life, and enjoys drinking, and smoking, and chasing pretty women. His nihilistic outlook manifests in a philosophy that prizes and celebrates the immediate moment, and it is rare that whether he is fighting, studying, or flirting, he does not have some measure of sardonic grin punctuating his wolfish features.
Sol has a strong belief and respect for military and martial might. He does not believe in a higher or more noble purpose than the dedicated pursuit of strength and power. To him the only path to peace is having a more terrible weapon than one`s enemies, and only absolute might can be capable of uniting a fracture society. Sol believes ends justify the means, and though his exact feelings regarding violence as a solution are somewhat complex, he does not see any better options available to him.

<p><div id="criteriah">HISTORY.</div>

Sol never knew his mother, and was raised under the direct tutelage of his father Terry-Daton Moon, a wealthy and renowned official of the Atlas Military. Terry was know and respected among his peers for the distinction of fighting on the front lines of any engagement, and though the extent of this preference was often exaggerated to a logically ludicrous degree, it was quite accurate to say that Sol's father was a skill and noble warrior who was as at home on the battlefield as he was at being the head of a noble family. Great things were expected of Sol even in his youth, but when an outbreak of disease that wracked their estate threatened to claim the young heir as well, those expectations quickly turned to despair. Though the exact circumstances of the tale are lost to time and the secretive lips of Sol, rumor has it that the boy himself, upon discovering his right eye rendered useless by infection, dug the diseased flesh out himself in a bid to get well.
Despite nearly being killed by the sickness that claimed his eye, Sol, who had been groomed from infancy as a warrior, returned to his training and his studies in a deliberate defiance of those who had though he might die. Motivated by the knowledge that he himself was his father's only heir, as well as the family tradition of military exploits, Sol's skill with a sword was unparalleled, and as he grew into his teens he developed a physique and a demeanor to match. At age thirteen he had already sneaked onto a convoy headed by his father, and had already taken lives in one of the numerous faunus uprising that plagued the Atlas Periphery. By the time he was fourteen he was openly participating in such skirmishes, and by fifteen he was leading his own detachment of soldiers.
Sol was privately tutored during this time, as well as attending the notable Atlas Hunters Academy, and by all accounts progressing well along the lines towards being his father's successor in both name and status. By the time he turned sixteen Sol had a partial share in his father's holdings, and was put to work in increasing his family's influence. He proved to be a skilled negotiator, by the liberal use of his father's coin and the threat of his family's military might, Sol made many allies for his clan, all the while crushing Faunus rebellions as they sprouted along the borderlands. It was this very success that would eventually spell the doom for his family.
On what had appeared to be a routine skirmish into the periphery, Sol and his father were ambushed by a well armed regiment of the White Fang. Sol's father was taken hostage during the melee and the Fang leader demanded that Sol and his company surrender, all the while holding a knife to Terry''s throat. Despite having a full garrison of rifles lined up to fire, Sol hesitated, even as his father demanded that his own son give the order that would invariably mean his death. The Fang general panicked and cut Terry's throat in a bid to make a frantic escape. Despite the apparently suicidal nature of his decisions the terrorist managed to escape the hail of gunfire, and Sol gave chase, ordering his men to remain and mop up any resistance.
Sol tracked the man who had killed his father over many miles, and encountered White Fang reinforcements. Driven by rage and grief, Sol threw himself into their ranks and cut a bloody line towards their leader, but he was soon overwhelmed by their numbers and critically injured in the process. Luckily Sol's own forces had given pursuit of their hotheaded leader when they realized what he had done and soon the fell upon the disorganized faunus battalion. Losses were devastating for both sides, not the least of which being Sol's right arm which was severed just below the shoulder by a faunus arming sword.
Sol spent months recovering, and used his family's wealth to construct a new arm to replace what he'd lost, as well as having the very sword that had crippled him modified to serve as his new weapon. As soon as he was able he returned to the battlefield, with a solitary goal of becoming mighty enough that he could eradicate the White Fang, once and for all.
