about us
Legends. Stories, scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the many exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants - byproducts - of a forgotten past.

Join the ranks of Remnant’s prestigious Academies as you fight to protect the Four Kingdoms from the clutches of the evil Creatures of Grimm. Alternatively, you may work towards bringing the world to its knees by fighting against the last sparks of humanity. Red Like Roses is based on the hit web-series RWBY by Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth Productions.

What will happen this year?

Wildfire Blaze, a mercenary the White Fang had a particular interest in. It turned out there were some hard to find documents detailing how this specific huntress was effectively turned into an android. Of course, the huntress had become a mercenary in order to distance herself from the Atlesian military because of their actions. Her White Fang commander, Fate hadn't learned their name, had assigned their personal robot to asses the quality of the subject, and recruit her if deemed worthwhile. As Fate was standing in an alley, reading over previous reports of the huntress turned android and her exploits, she was almost certain that not only was Wildfire worth it to recruit, but also would not be that hard to convince.

Fate had sent a message to Wildfire requesting a meet at a secluded location not far from where she was standing. Fate was currently in a rather different outfit, a sleeveless gold shirt with golden shorts that showed her knees. The mechanisms that were replacing her shoulders and knees clearly visible. Atop her head was a hood, connected to a cloak flowing over her back and down past her knees, while her face was covered by the Grimm mask of the White Fang. This Wildfire was a huntress, and should Fate fail to recruit her she was sure the other android would go straight to Titan to tell them of Fate's, extracurricular. So she activated a voice modulation program the White Fang had sent her, and spoke in a distorted voice "Test"

Apparently happy with the test, Fate lifted herself off the wall she was standing on and moved towards the meeting place. The time was approaching, and the waxing moon was smiling down at her as she maneuvered stealthily through the city. Arriving at the place, a deserted area in the harbor surrounded by abandoned warehouses and loading bays, Fate leaned against the wall of a nearby crumbling warehouse to wait. The appointed time was fast approaching, and Fate had to be ready to give it her all in an effort to convince Wildfire to join her cause. With a second android on their side, the White Fang could easily acquire the fate they seek. Though should Fate fail, the fate of the faunus could remain as it is, something that simply could not be allowed to happen.

Fate knew she was going to be judged for being a faunus here at Titan, but she wasn't fully prepared for this. Currently, she was encircled by a group of fourth years, considerably older than her and would be much stronger than her, had she not been robotic. As such, she had been trying to get out of this situation without a fight, though that option was rapidly exiting possibility. "My father has stronger cats than you as a pet!" One of them shouted at her, and Fate mostly just rolled her eyes. "Hey, maybe that's all she should ever be, a pet." Still Fate stayed silent at this, tapping her foot impatiently. "Oh wait, she's just an animal, she probably doesn't understand us." The sneered comment finally got a reaction, Fate's eyes whipping up into a glare. The boy who had said it laughed, cracking his knuckles in a threatening manner. "There she goes. I guess she's just too dense to realize we're insulting her. Not surprising for a faunus." The smallest one, clearly a year younger than the rest of the group, piped up in a sickly sweet voice. "Maybe we should keep her as a pet? We all know she'd be more useful that way." The group laughed at her words, and Fate laughed a little too. "What's so funny?" The words were from the largest of them, his huge form towering over Fate.
"Oh nothing much. Just that not a single one of you is worthy of having me as a pet." Fate inwardly cringed at her own words, hating herself for her retaliatory nature against faunus abuse. The effect was immediate, the whole group bristling with rage, a few weapons even coming out. "Now now, no need to get drastic. If you would like to get violent try punching a wall, it would do you more good." Instead of following her advice and targeting a wall, the leader responded by swinging his fists at Fate. She ducked, her eyes slitting as it flew over her head.
His friends lunged at Fate right after, forcing her to dart under them. I am going to have to be careful, I do not want to look impossible. The thought barely passed through her head before she slid around another punch, restraining herself from responding. She wanted to insure they were the bad guys in this situation, and that she didn't blow her cover. The fight went on for about a minute, a small crowd of students gathering around to watch as the fight increased in intensity. Fate never once attacked back, spending the whole time blocking or dodging. It wasn't long before Fate had to put up an aura barrier to block a weapon strike.
The fight stopped for a moment after the sword bounced off her aura, the crowd falling silent. Fate, standing there with her white aura shimmering and inspiring recklessness, did not help to deescalate the situation. The other three drew out their weapons, a spear, a flail, and an axe and their aura barriers sprang to life. Each of them had a fire in their eyes and were glowering at the perceived faunus before them. Fate looked between all four of them and their weapons, a sigh escaping her lips. "Fine. You want to play rough?" A smirk shot onto Fate's features in an instant, her C.L.A.Ws shooting out of her fingertips. Her slit pupils became more obvious as she began overheating, her whole body glowing slightly as her claws shimmered white hot. "Let us play rough"

AURA & SEMBLANCE.

The Feline Autonomous Thermodynamic Experiment, or F.A.T.E, is a robot, meaning she has no natural aura. However she was built to protect the White Fang from hunters and huntresses, so she was given an artificial aura. This aura is a startling white and gives a feeling of reckless hope around her. The feeling inspires people and drives them to action, though that action tends to be impulsive and poorly thought out. F.A.T.E’s aura is quite durable, but it gives her no natural healing. Her “semblance” causes her to heat her metal casing, raising it to temperatures far above natural human tolerance. She calls this Overheat, and when activated it causes her “skin” to become blistering hot. F.A.T.E herself is built to withstand the heat, but its usage does put a drain on her power supply. It is also not actually made with her aura, as the White Fang could not figure out how to program in a semblance. Instead, they caused all of her heat distribution to flow into the metal making up her skin. Following that, they allowed her systems to be overheated, causing the excess heat to flow into her skin and activate Overheat. While it does not put a drain on her aura, it does leave her fatigued after use and drains her power supply. The fatigue is because of her systems cooling down, while the power drain is due to the overworking of them. Should she Overheat too much, she could very well shut herself down or have critical systems fail, such as her arms or legs.

WEAPON.

F.A.T.E’s weapon are the Critically Lethal Assault Weapons, or C.L.A.W. C.L.A.W at first glance simply appear to be the natural claws of a feline faunus. However, they are built of a highly durable and heat conductive metal, causing Overheat to affect them just as much, if not more, than the rest of her body. F.A.T.E passes off C.L.A.W as simply her natural claws, enhanced by her semblance. Because of that, they do not transform, only retract into her hand.

C.L.A.W is extremely sharp, built to cleave through armor and Grimm both. Combining the heat caused by her semblance and the honed edges and tip of the claws, it has far more cutting power than it looks like. While they are Overheated, they glow bright white, and the temperature is hot enough to warrant the color. F.A.T.E tries not to cut anything that would be too outlandish for natural claws to cut, and as such severely limits her fighting prowess.

F.A.T.E is a very quick fighter. Her goal in a fight is to close the distance as fast as possible, then rip her target to shreds with searing claws. She remains in peak physical condition at most times, and sometimes beyond that. Her speed is incredible, and she can leap three feet straight into the air. These traits are attributed to her faunus nature, but in truth it is because of the robotics that make up her system. She never runs out of breath or has her heart race, so she remains level headed and extremely aggressive in combat. Having no ranged capability means that anybody that can stay out of her range while keeping F.A.T.E in theirs has a distinct advantage.

BONUS: F.A.T.E possesses a special scroll, wired directly to her cybernetic brain. This allows her to utilize the full range of uses for her scroll without ever pulling it out. However, to maintain the guise of a normal faunus she only uses this for secret White Fang contact, pulling out her scroll for any other use.

PERSONAL PROFILE

APPEARANCE.

F.A.T.E stands at 5’5, her muscled frame built to hide the robotics used in her creation. Her exposed joints: elbows; fingers; toes; and the like: appear to be completely normal. Any joints normally hidden: shoulders; hips; and knees: are missing skin and expose the metal nature of the robot. F.A.T.E’s hair is a deep black, looking sleek and smooth almost all the time. Sticking from the top of her head are cat ears, covered in a fur the same color. Her eyes are very light green, and they slit when she focuses. Whenever she is not in uniform, F.A.T.E wears medium-short sleeved blue-black shirts and long pants with small streaks of yellow. All of her shirts cover her shoulders at all times, while her pants cover her hips and knees. She wears her hair short and ruffled, and combined with her flat chest and angular features is often mistaken for a man. F.A.T.E prefers to walk around barefoot, even in combat, and so she never wears shoes. Under the top of her hair she has two nodes, which can create the Grimm mask of the White Fang. When she wishes to represent them, these nodes drop the mask directly in front of her eyes.

PERSONALITY.

F.A.T.E is a rallying figure, built to both protect and inspire. She remains very rational in tense situations and takes charge whenever the chance is there. She is quite assertive and stubborn, never backing down from anything. Her emotions are quite strong, specifically her compassion and anger. Being built by the White Fang, she doesn’t stand for faunus prejudice. When she witnesses it, she is likely to fly off the handle at whoever is exhibiting it, and were she not pretending to be a huntress in training she’d likely rip them to pieces.

F.A.T.E’s assertiveness is both a boon and a curse. She can take command even over the most unruly of soldiers, rally in the most desperate situation, and even simply intimidate others. She is very intimidating and aggressive, her mere presence enough to make weaker minds quiver. She never backs down, always finishing what she starts and responding to a challenge. This causes her to never retreat, and come off as reckless in many situations.

F.A.T.E reacts quite strongly to unjust suffering, often becoming violent to stop it. She does not think the White Fang’s actions to cause unjust suffering, thinking that the ones they hurt deserve it. However other actions of similar magnitude greatly anger F.A.T.E. Her anger never gets strong enough to cloud her judgement, safeguards are in place within her computerized mind to ensure that. When these safeguards kick in, her anger fades away in an instant, replaced by calm disdain.

Being built as a flag to rally around, F.A.T.E falls naturally into the role of a leader. She cares for the lives of her soldiers, but understands the sacrifices necessary to succeed. She comes off as, while a bit stubborn, nice and trustworthy overall. She has an easy time making friends and allies, and more importantly fooling people into thinking she is a normal faunus. Even though she was built a mere two years ago, she comes off as mature and confident.

That being said, she is merely a White Fang robot. At any point they can reprogram her mind, completely changing her personality. She was built to be specifically averse to anti-faunus actions and organizations, while being extremely accepting of the White Fang and their actions. In her mind, the White Fang are only seeking freedom, and any standing in their way are the real bad guys. However, being implanted into Titan to learn about the hunters and huntresses, she is being taught things that contradict the White Fang’s rhetoric. F.A.T.E was built to bring a new fate to the faunus, and she will stop at nothing to accomplish her prime directive.

F.A.T.E, despite training and learning to act normal, still has some slightly robotic quirks. She speaks in slightly forced tones, with the occasional strange skip in her words. She walks in a way that is almost too normal, and her eyes have some almost imperceptible circuitry within them. None but those with the most fantastic of perceptive and intuitive skill can see and interpret these, but it is possible to figure her out as a robot.

HISTORY.

The F.A.T.E project was an Atlesian research project designed to build a robot that could harness the power of heat and use it against the Grimm. Before it could be perfected, the White Fang raided the robotics facility where the F.A.T.E project was being worked on. The prototype they found was enough to work off of, and with the artificial intelligence research they found in the same facility, they had enough to begin work. A few days later, a scientist who was on a vacation would return and find everyone in the facility slaughtered and the research gone.

A few years passed, and the White Fang had finally built their robotic weapon. Built to not only generate heat and aura, but to appear just like any other faunus, the Feline Autonomous Thermodynamic Experiment took her first artificial breath. For two years she was trained, taught how to act normally, how to fight, and how to lie. The White Fang’s original purpose for F.A.T.E was simply to protect them from the hunters and huntresses trying to route them out. However, as they saw her ability to both lie and fight, they had the idea to put her into training to be a huntress. After all, what better way to beat your enemy than to learn how they fight and how they train.

Papers were forged and F.A.T.E was implanted into Titan academy as Omega Fate. Arriving as just another faunus on the quest to prove that her race is not pure evil, nobody suspects that she is a member of the same group she swears to hate. The White Fang have made themselves a deadly weapon, and now she’s being given huntress training. Should they be allowed to keep her, their fate may very well be changed.
