Requirements for Faculty
If you can’t meet ‘em, don’t bother!
So you’ve got your eye on a position as a faculty member at one of Remnant’s Hunter academies, eh? Well before you settle on something like that, there are a few ground rules to consider (because we will be considering them when reviewing the characters). The requirements are the same for all teaching positions, with a separate requirement for Headmaster characters. So without further ado, let’s go over what you need to join the ranks of the world’s academies.
Teachers are an important part of life at the academies, and as such they are very important characters. There are three (3) requirements to consider when making a teacher character: Firstly, you must be active. As noted, teachers are important, and as such they are expected to be among the most active characters on-site. Secondly, a teacher character must maintain at least two active topics between activity checks (they can end before or after the activity check as well). The third and final requirement is that at least one of the two threads must be class-relevant. This does not mean a thread holding a class, just one somehow pertaining to the curriculum. For example: Glynda and Oobleck both went with their classes into the wilderness, as such “expedition” style threads would be most ideal for meeting this requirement.
Note: Non-class teachers, such as doctors, librarians, etc. only need to meet the requirement of one thread between activity checks.
The creme de la creme, the best of the best, Headmasters are the leading force behind the academies. They also, in some capacity, play a role in Kingdom politics (what exactly that role is, however, remains to be seen). Headmasters are incredibly important to RLR, and as such they are expected to meet similar requirements to that of teachers. First and foremost, the must be active members of the role play. These aren’t the types of characters to sit back and let the world do whatever they like around them. They are leaders, and are expected to be such. Secondly, they are required to hold at least two active threads between activity checks, in a similar fashion to the teachers. The difference here is that, since they hold no class-relevant office, these can be any two threads of their choosing.
Third and foremost, and probably the easiest since they tend to take the form of events, is that Headmasters are required to protect their respected academies whenever necessary. Assaults on the schools are bound to increase as the threat of Grimm and other evils loom over the horizon. As such, any time a school is threatened, the Headmaster of that school must go to its defense. If you’re locked in to other threads when this occurs, you are obligated to put the defense of your school first, and as such this obligation will allow you to forgo your 2-thread obligation.
Now that you know what you need in order to serve the Kingdoms, below is a complete list of all open positions (as well as which are taken). Be sure to check back if you have your eye on a taken position, as it is inevitable that such a position will end up being available again.
